Symo Corporation is a steel manufacturing and sheet metal pressing company that was founded in 1931 and is situated in Elandsfontein, Gauteng within close proximity to the Johannesburg International Airport and major freeways and operates from 85,000 square meters of factory area.

The factory personnel are renowned for their constant quality of manufactured goods, whilst constantly ensuring reaching tight schedules.

Symo Corporation is a division of Capital Africa Steel and consists of four internal divisions, Symo Storage, Symo – Tech, Sydmore Engineering and Symo Glazing Systems.

Sydmore Engineering manufactures ironmongery and metal pressing hardware products and offers a wide range of products including back flap hinges, butt hinges, sinkless (flush) hinges, piano hinges, continuous hinges, easy fit hinges, T-hinges and slip-on hinges; barrel bolts, pad lock bolts; braces, brackets and wall bands; as well as gate latches, toilet roll holders, snap clamps, corners, clips, domes plates, bookcase strips and buckles.

Symo Glazing Systems manufacture quality powder coated, puttyless, steel windows and doors for residential and commercial properties.

Symo Storage is the leader in design, manufacture and installation of storage solutions � including heavy duty racking, shelving, mobile filing systems, steel cupboards, lockers and containers and mezzanine floors. Our customers include distribution centers, medical depots, libraries, factories, warehouses, supermarkets, universities, libraries, offices and hospitals.
Symo-Tech are fabricators of innovative and quality sheet metal products, manufactured out of stainless steel and mild steel using CNC punching machines and robot welding equipment to manufacturing products such as telephone booths, mobile telephone containers, steel cupboards, vandal protection units, display cabinets and HT electric switchgear.

Steel

All load bearing elements are manufactured from A graded steel with 300 MPA yield stress.

Paint Process

All our products have a baked epoxy powder coated finish and pass through on-line chemical cleaning process. Powder is applied to an average thickness of 55 microns as per SABS 1274-1979, type 2 method 141 prior to oven baking at 210 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. All paint specifications are independently verified to conform to SABS standards by Corrosion Advisory Technical Services.
